The Maha Kumbh Mela occurs once every twelve years, and Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, will host the event in 2025 that year. The fair will begin on January 13 and continue until February 26.

Important Bathing Dates

  • January 13 (Paush Purnima): The Maha Kumbh begins on this day, making it one of the most significant dates for bathing.
  • January 14 (Makar Sankranti): Bathing during Makar Sankranti is believed to absolve all sins.
  • January 29 (Mauni Amavasya): This is known as the most auspicious day of the Maha Kumbh.
  • February 3 (Vasant Panchami): This day marks the arrival of spring and is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati.
  • February 12 (Maghi Purnima): Maghi Purnima is an important day for charity, meditation, and holy dips.
  • February 26 (Mahashivratri): The final bathing day coincides with Mahashivratri.
